The Tamil New Year this year falls on the 14th of April. This year is called 'Sarvajith' – which is a year of all victories. It is the 21st of the 60 years that repeat in the Hindu Calendar. The 60 years in the Hindu Calendar are named after the sixty daughters of Narada. So, it behooves of us to remember Sage Narada on this auspicious day. Let us pray to him, who is verily the personification of Bhakti, to grant us more Bhakti to Lord Krishna.
The most significant aspect of this year is that it was in a 'Sarvajith' year, that Bhagavan Sri Krishna narrated the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, eons ago. That signifies goodness and peace. There shall be good rains and hence agriculture shall flourish during the year. Harmony and brotherhood will prevail. Bhakti will be on the rise and all the troubles and problems will get resolved during this year.
On this auspicious and joyful occasion, let us pray to the Lord Almighty with Maha Mantra Kirtan that He fulfill all our wishes and gives us more and more devotion towards Him.
