A Nagara Sankirtan was performed on 24th February 2007 between 8.00 a.m and 11.30 a.m covering the streets adjoining the Srirangam Sri Ranganathar temple.
A Mass Prayer event was to be organized a few weeks later in the Temple town of Trichy
Sri Kasinathan who is coordinated this program wanted this program to reach each resident of Tiruchirappalli so that no one misses the great opportunity to participate in the mass prayer in the August presence of Sri Sri Swamiji.
Hence it was planned to distribute the handbill invitations to each house and the same was coupled with Nagara Kirtan so that we adhere to the ways shown by AzhwAr "Veda mudhalvanai pAdi, veedhigal thorum thullAdhAr!" (sing the name of the Lord and dance on the streets!).
As Manikandan and Vaitheswaran along with Sri Ramachandran was singing the Mahamantra kirtan loudly by playing the Harmonium in the middle of the street, Vishnuratha Bhagavathar and Ramachandran distributed the hand bills to each of the one residing on the streets adjoining the Srirangam Sri Ranganathar temple and in the crowded market place around the temple.
On 25th February 2007 Sri Kasinathan, Sathyanarayanan and Raja joined the above persons and this day the hand bills was distributed to each of the one residing on the streets adjoining the Rock Fort Vinayaka Temple and to the devotees who came to Thayumanavar temple located in the same area.
The group then moved to the busiest market street in Trichy around the Theppakulam and distributed handbills in all the shops during the Nama Kirtan and to each of the listeners who are attracted to the divine tune of Nama Kirtan.
The Nagara Kirtan was concluded in the Sri Naganatha Swamy temple and handbills were distributed to the devotees who came there.
