The world has witnessed the avatars of many Mahatmas. They have all extolled the greatness and importance of Nama kirtan and have sung about its glory. However, the foremost Avatar who gave the "Nama Siddantha"(philosophical basis to Nama kirtan as a separate school) was Sri Bhagavan Nama Bodendra Saraswati Swamigal of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. He has authored eight texts on the same subject. Of the eight, "Bhagavanaama Rasodhayam" is the most elaborate and important.
Sri Bodendra Swamigal's Jiva Samadhi is located at Govindapuram near Kumbakonam. It is the Divine Will of Sri Sri Anna that Nama Kirtan from various sampradayams must reverbrate in the vicinity of the samadhi. Therefore, Chaitanya Kutir was established 3 years ago. Chaitanya Kutir was inaugurated by Sri Sri Anna Himself. Moorthys of Sri Jagannath- Subhadra - Balrama (as in Jagannath Puri) and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu-Nithyananda were consecrated by Sri Sri Anna. From that day onwards, incessant chanting of the Mahamantra is going on at Chaitanya Kutir. Sri Sri Anna always graces Chaitanya Kutir whenever He visits Govindapuram. He also blesses all during every anniversary.
This year the anniversary was celebrated on September 4, this year. Numerous devotees congregated and performed Mahamantra Kirtan. In the evening, Sri Sri Anna visited the Kutir. He was accorded a grand welcome with poornakumbham by our Sri Swamiji. Blessed indeed are those who had the fortune of witnessing Sri Sri Anna singing and dancing to the tune of Mahamantra kirtan like Mahaprabhu.
